About Us
Tastes Like Tradition was created to preserve.
Preservation of culture. Preservation of techniques. Preservations of ingredients and recipes.
Most importantly, the preservation of the people, The Traditionalists, whose lives and whose stories are what create these flavors.

Chrystal
Sweet potato pie, peach cobbler and cornbread evoke memories of standing head-to-hip with her grandmother as she cooked in a tiny kitchen. No recipes, just busy hands imbued with routine. To Chrystal anything hot and fresh out of the oven tastes like tradition.

Devan
For Devan, tradition tastes like her grandmother’s bourekas; buttery, flakey, and filled with lots of cheese. Sitting around a table eating pistachios while engaging in a round of shesh besh. The aroma of the coffee, dark, rich, and heightened by the addition of cardamom.
